St Mark’s Women’s Guild
Has fourteen (14) members who are enthusiastic to join in the Fellowship and to contribute to the betterment of our Church. The ladies of St. Mark's Womens's Guild work together to provide help, when it is most needed. We offer inexpensive catering to suit your budget and tastes, particularly for Wakes following a funeral, which can have been held at any location. We can serve you and your guests in our St. Mark's Parish Hall or pickup can be arranged from the Parish Hall.
The Guild also provide the wonderful and scrumptious art@st.mark's cafe for our Jumpers 'n' July function as well as the Devonshire Teas at the Fete Cafe.
MU (formerly Mothers’ Union)
Meets the 2nd Monday of the month (February to November) at 10am, St. Mark’s Hall or Resource Room
The purpose of Mother’s Union is to be especially concerned with all that strengthens and preserves marriage and Christian family life. Mothers Union (MU) holds other special meeting days, Pancake Day, Mothering Sunday, Wave of Prayer and our members attend Deanery Days at other branches in our Deanery. St. Mark’s MU turned 110 in September 2017.
Who are we?
We are part of a global movement of Christians of diverse interests, talents and resources who join together to work for a better society for all. We are part of the Mothers’ Union which was formed in England by Mary Sumner in 1876 and which now operates in 81 countries around the world with a membership of over 4million women and men. We are part of the Anglican Communion, but are not exclusively an Anglican organisation. All are welcome to become involved in our fellowship and programmes. Full membership is open to all who support our Aim and Objectives and have been baptised in the name of the Holy Trinity. We would welcome and encourage others to join. http://www.muaustralia.org.au/
Friends of St Mark’s
Meets 3rd Monday of the month in St. Mark’s Hall or Resource Room
In 2026, Friends of St. Mark’s (FOSM), will undertake a new chapter and become a social group only. Friends is a group of women who raise funds for various requirements in and around St. Mark’s. We are a friendly, happy group of women who enjoy one another’s company whilst working with the group and others to set and achieve our community's outcomes. All are welcome to join.
St Mark’s Craft
Meets every Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm to 3pm
(breaking mid Dec to mid Jan)
Our gathering is a great chance to meet with fellow parishioners and friends, sharing patterns, materials, discussions and lots of laughter. Craft items are made for sale at the Fete and the craft stall at art@st.mark’s. Beanies, sole slippers, scarves, rugs, hand towels, tea cosies, gloves, coat hangers, draught stoppers and hats are just some examples of our fine craftsmanship.
Special projects may be undertaken to donate to foster children, disadvantaged children, the homeless and seamen. Donations of wool and other craft supplies have been gratefully accepted and utilised. We warmly welcome more people to join our craft group.
Sunday School
A committed group of people are now offering a place where children can be nourished in faith through stories and activities that give them a basic understanding of what it is to be a baptised Christian and a beloved child of God.
Prep to Year 7 The Children start in Church with a short story and prayer and then proceed to Sunday School for about 40minutes before returning to Church for a blessing, a time of sharing and morning tea. We would love for your child to be part of St Mark's Sunday School. (School term only, does not run on School holidays)
Contact Clare McHugh von Stieglitz, Co-Ordinator on 4661 3886 or simply come along to the 8.30am Sunday Service at St. Mark's.
